Job Summary:

We are currently looking to hire an Accounts Receivable Administrator who will be responsible for managing the accounts receivable for Shiplake Properties and other properties as assigned within the guidelines of the Residential Tenancies Act and the Retirement Homes Regulatory Authority. If you are detail oriented and highly organized individual with Accounts Receivable experience in the apartment rental/ property management industry, you will be a perfect fit to our dynamic team!

  • Responsible for all account transactions in Yardi: set up of resident accounts; monthly maintenance of resident accounts; monthly rent roll and EFTs; charges for rent, lockers, parking, etc.; receipt and deposit of all payments.
  • Deposit all rents received on a daily basis – bring deposits to the local bank branch
  • Process all legal notices
  • Work with paralegals in dealing with all required current and past tenant accounts
  • Work with the accountant on completion of monthly financials
  • Work with the Leasing Manager in ensuring all required documents are collected and signed for all new accounts
  • Attending mandatory training days / courses, on or off site, as and when required
  • Maintaining and improving professional knowledge and competence
  • Other duties as assigned


  • College diploma with a background in bookkeeping or accounting.
  • 3-5 years of account receivable experience, preferably in the apartment rental industry
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and knowledge of Yardi is strongly preferred
  • Exceptional customer service, communication (verbal and written) and problem solving skills
  • Able to meet deadlines and manage time efficiently
  • Ability to problem solve and juggle competing demands while managing all resident accounts
  • Knowledge of the Residential Tenancy Act
  • An independent, detail oriented individual who can work as a team player
