Reporting to the Environmental Services Manager the incumbent is responsible for performing cleaning and laundry services according to established policies and procedures; monitoring quantity of cleaning supplies; safely operating housekeeping equipment and utilizing cleaning chemicals.

Under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager you will perform general routine maintenance for the community and surrounding grounds as well as minor repairs to equipment, painting, carpet cleaning, moving furniture and garbage removal.

Technical Skills & Knowledge Required

• Knowledgeable of the Health and Safety regulations in the Province of employment

Reporting to the Director of Care, the incumbent will be responsible for serving the care needs of our Residents, within the scope of practice. This includes:

• Maintaining resident care plans and required documentation in accordance with Company policies and procedures and legislative requirements.
• Manages medications as prescribed and observes/reports changes in condition; monitors the safekeeping of drugs and narcotics
• Assists in maintaining a clean, safe environment for residents and staff
• Liaises with family members and acts as a resource for questions, concerns regarding practices or related health care issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Under the supervision of the Director of Care (or designated R.P.N.), and in accordance with company policies, procedures and legislated standards, duties include but are not limited to providing resident care as assigned; helping residents to and from their suites, recreational activities and dining room as required; assisting with daily activities of living and documentation as required.

Knowledge/Skills Required:

Position Summary:

We are seeking a customer service focused individual with a demonstrated ability to provide effective, cost efficient, timely quality maintenance services within a independent seniors affordable apartment building. The successful applicant will ensure all aspects of safety systems, mechanical equipment and internal and external physical environments are maintained to the highest standard. The position is also responsible for the coordination and supervision of contractors, is expected to respond promptly and courteously to tenant requests, and to ensure maintenance of an established preventative maintenance program.

Bethany is currently looking for an employee to work casual shifts as both a Supportive Living Attendant, as well as in Adult Day Programs.

Under the direction and supervision of the Supportive Living Supervisor, this position is responsible to perform a variety of services and activities for the semi-independent residents specific to the activities of daily living. Duties may range from supporting residents in maintaining  their independence to  performing personal care activities on an "as needed" basis  and assisting  in the  implementation of  recreational activities with residents  and or clients of the adult day program.

Under the direction and supervision of the Occupational Therapist, the Therapy Assistant is accountable for providing opportunities for the residents to realize their maximum potential.

• Enables residents to perform daily activities and maintain a responsive atmosphere of resident-focused care
• Informs the Occupational Therapist of resident needs and assists in implementing change while promoting a safe environment for residents, team and self
• Participates in the planning and implementation of resident activities and the operation of the department as directed by the Occupational Therapist

Position Summary

Reporting to the Support Services Manager and/or designate, the SSW-Laundry performs routine and special duties involved in providing laundry services to the residents and tenants of the facility. Duties are performed in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

Include but not limited to;

• Processes linens, drapes, personal resident clothing that will include collection and redistribution to appropriate locations.
• Stock cupboards with clean linens as per quotas.
• Washes, dries, sorts, folds, hang items.
• Uses labeling equipment to label resident clothing.
• Operates and maintains equipment including washers, dryers and transport carts.
• Reports maintenance concerns.
• Recommends ordering of chemicals and facility linens.
• Participates in facility committees and quality improvement initiatives.
• Perform all other duties as required.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Support Services Manager and/or designate, the SSW Housekeeping performs general cleaning duties in the facility, including the cleaning of residents’ / tenants’ rooms/suites, bathrooms, staff rooms, offices, lounges, dining rooms, corridors, and other areas as designated. Responds to resident/tenant and building emergencies as required.

Responsibilities

Include but not limited to;

• Carries out all aspects of routine and rotation cleaning throughout the building and suites which includes: dusting, vacuuming and sweeping; cleaning appliances; washing floors, walls, windows and doors; changing light bulbs; changing and making beds; removing curtains/window coverings for cleaning and re-hanging; garbage removal; terminal cleaning of rooms/suites.
• Cares for equipment, supplies and work areas and keeps equipment clean and safely stored. Reports defective and damaged equipment and furnishings; keeps work area in an orderly, safe and clean condition; keeps inventory in order on individual carts; replenishes supplies throughout the building; understands the use and application of cleaning chemicals.
• Ensures that furniture is arranged to provide a safe and efficient environment. Reports significant changes or uncommon resident behaviour or concerns to nursing staff.
• Participates in facility committees and quality improvement initiatives.
• Perform all other duties as required.

Reporting to the Dietary Manager, follows established policies, procedures and standards, prepares and serves food for the residents, including the more complex meal preparation for the facility (dinner, sauces, desserts etc.), cleans production area and equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Reviews regular and therapeutic menus and sets up equipment and supplies for food preparation. Prepares food and nourishments including evening meal following standardized recipes and production sheets. Provides for prescribed diets, including variations in texture. Ensures meals are served on time, at appropriate temperatures and in portion controlled quantities.
• In the absence of the Dietary Manger, decides on menu changes as necessary and ensures that changes are recorded following department procedures.
• Monitors quality and quantity of food supplies ordered, proper operation of kitchen equipment and alerts Manager of problems. Recommends corrective action.
• Directs Dietary Aides in basic food preparation procedures and in serving activities at meal times; assumes responsibility for routine departmental operations in the absence of the Dietary Manager, including staff replacements and service calls for malfunctioning equipment.
• Maintains all required records such as menu changes, delivery receipts, temperature checks; cooperates with other departments to meet resident needs.

Reporting to the Dietary Manager, the Dietary Aide assists with food preparation and serving of meals. Cleans eating, cooking, storage, and serving areas, as well as equipment. Follows established policies, procedures and standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Serves food to residents according to individual diets and preferences. Observes time limits for meal serving. Maintains foods at proper serving temperature.
• Assists Cooks to clean and prepare such uncooked food as salads, vegetables and fruits. Follows basic instructions in preparing such simple foods as breakfast items, basic desserts and garnishes.
• Clears plates and trays, loads and operates dishwasher. Cleans pots, pans and cooking utensils as per procedure.
• Participates in proper storage and labeling of dietary supplies and food, including leftovers.
• Adheres to established departmental policies, procedures regarding quality assurance, fire, safety, environment, and infection control.
• Assembles nourishment carts. Stocks unit kitchenettes.
• Participates in facility meetings as assigned. Attends in-service education programs.
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
